4.2 The table below show the result of tests carried out on the project i.e. Plaster of Paris (POP) ceiling board.
The average water absorption of the Plaster of paris (POP) ceiling board is 11.4 percent. This value is relatively good. Asbestos board, an inorganic material has water absorption of about 0.5 percent. Gypsum ceiling board as an organic material absorb water readily incase there is leakage of water from the roof.
