Bamboo Leaf Ash As A Partial Replacement Of Cement In Concrete
-
-
-
From the grading curve, D10=8.0mm; D30=13.00mm and D60=16.00mm
Coefficient of uniformity, Cu= D_60/D_10 =16/8=2.0
Coefficient of curvature, Cc= ((D_30)2)/(D_10 x D_60 )=132/(8 x 16) =1.32 is 1.32
REMARK: based on the results above, the coefficient of uniformity is 2.0 and coefficient of curvature respectively and according to the grading, the granite is well graded.
REMARK: this shows the decreasing Values of workability from 0% - 20% replacement of the fresh concretes paste. This implies that the bamboo leaf ash is less workable. (ASTMC 143 or EN 12380).
4.3 DENSITY TEST
Mass of hardened concrete cube after curing in kg =w
Volume of hardened concrete cube after curing in MM3 = V
Density of wet concrete cube, DW =w/v(kg/mm3)
Density of the concrete after 7 days of curing

ABSRACT - [ Total Page(s): 1 ]ABSTRACTConcrete is a major construction material, which is usually made by mixing cement, water, fine and coarse aggregate and sometimes admixtures in their right proportions. The use of waste materials with pozzolanic properties in concrete production is a becoming a worldwide practice. The assessment of the pozzolanic activity of cement replacement materials is becoming increasingly important because of the need for more sustainable cementing products.
