D. NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING METHODS
Jegede (2011) stated that natural family planning methods is a means by which couple uses the daily observation of sign and symptoms of the fertile and infertile phases of the menstrual cycle to guide the timing of sexual intercourse to their desire to achieve or avoid pregnancy. This method appealed to those who wants to avoid side effects of artificial method or for religious reasons, or other reasons.
ADVANTAGES
1. No chemical or mechanical device are needed
2. No cost
3. No side effect
DISADVANTAGES
1. Requires training
2. Needs a lot of self control
E. HORMONAL METHODS
This is the type of family planning method that prevent the ovum from ripening. They are made of oestrogan and progesterone which thickens the cervical mucus making it hostile and not habitable for the sperms. It also changes the consistency of the uterine lining making it thinner so that implantation is impossible.

1. ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE PILLS:- Is made of synthetic oestrogen and progesterone. They have been in use for over five hundred year (500) and it is the most popular method of contraceptive
TYPES :- Combine pills, progesterone only pill and Mimi pills
ADVANTAGES
1. No preparation before intercourse.
2. Easy to take and if effective
3. Reduces cramps associated with menstruation
DISADVANTAGES
1. Must be taken every day
2. Can cause headache weight gain and breast tenderness
2. INJECTABLE: This is long acting hormonals that is similar in action to the pills in preventing pregnancy
TYPES: Depo-Provera and noristerates
ADVANTAGES
-It is highly effective with nothing to worry about for the next two or three month depending on the types used
