          Tope Ajayi (2005) write that the benefits of family planning are discussed under the following leadings:
      1.    General benefits
      2.    Benefits to- The child, the mother, the father, community/ society, and the nation.
      3.    Socio- economic benefits
      1.    GENERAL BENEFITS OF FAMILY PLANNING:
      -    All individual children will benefit if they receive the time, love food, care and attention, needed to grow
      -    Infertile couples having problem may be helped to achieve their desire of becoming parents: All individual children will benefit if they receive the time, love food, care and attention, needed to grow
      -    Infertile couples having problem may be helped to achieve their desire of becoming parents
      -    Each family can be  more productive if child bearing is well spaced since excessive number of children to deplete family planning
      -    Each community can adjust more readily to the demand of health services, schools, food supplies, employment and transportation if there is moderate gradual growth
      -    Family stability and happiness will be enhance  
      -    Sexual transmitted diseases will be prevented
      -    The average life expecting of women will be high
      -    There will be decrease in infant and maternal, mortality rates.
      2.    BENEFITS OF FAMILY PLANNING TO THE MOTHER
      -    No more pregnancy at risk, i.e two early to close and too many
      -    Recuperate from previous delivery before having, another pregnancy
      -    Reduction in material morbidity and mortality rate.
      -    Relaxed sexual relationship with husband is enhanced.
      -    No more criminal abortions to get rid of unwanted pregnancy.
      -    Ability to maintain and retain her physique because she can have time to look after herself
      -    She is able to have periodic medical check up at the family planning clinic
      -    Allows the mother to give quality care to her children and family.
      -    Make her attain self reliance because she can now get out to work and contribute, towards family income.
      THE FATHER
      -    Relieves the father of stress and strains thereby leading to good health
      -    Gives him more quality time to the family
      -    Helps him provide all basic amenities for the family
      -    Promotes harmony between husband and wife
      -    Promotes good physical and mental
      THE CHILDREN
      -    Security each child is loved, cared for, and adequate attention given to prevent rifts and jealously among them.
      -    Children are well cared for, educationally socially and nutritionally.
      -    Reduction in infant morbidity and mortality, rates.
      -    Adequate development of potentials.
      -    No overcrowding, thus communicable disease, are prevented
      -    Prevention of abandoned children and mal-nutrition.
      -    Prevention of juvenile delinquencies among the children.
      -    Prevention of crime rates, teenage pregnancy criminal abortion that can lead to death
