Ajax is not a single technology, but a group technology, HTML and CSS can be used in combination to makeup and style information. The DOM is accessed with java script to dynamically display and allow the user to interact with the information presents. Java script and the XML HTTP request object provide a method for exchanging data.
In the 1990s, most websites were based on complete HTML. Each user action required that a complete page be loaded from the server. This process was inefficient, as reflected by the user experience: all page content disappeared and then reappeared. Each time the browser reloaded a page because of a partial change, all of the content had to be resent, event though some of the information had changed. Mark up: HTML mark up consist of several key components including tags. (And their Attributes) character based data types character reference and entity reference. Another import component is the document type declaration, which triggers standards mode rendering.
