4.4 ASSEMBLING, CLONING AND INSTALLING THE OPERATING SYSTEM
Coupling, Assembling and installing Linux operating system.
PC assembling is the terminology used to describe the act of putting different hardware parts together into a functioning computer system.
PARTS NEEDED FOR ASSEMBLING:
Motherboard with a processor
Casing with a power supply unit
Hard disk drive, Floppy disk drive, and CDROM drive
Expansion Card (add on card)
Keyboard and mouse
Monitor
Memory(RAM)
I/O cables (Ribbon cables)
The following precaution should be observe before assembling
Discharge yourself of Electrostatic charges in your body by either wearing a wrist strap or touching a metallic substance
Handle the hardware parts with great care
do not place drink near the parts
Ensure the sensitive parts are inside anti-static bags
PROCEDURE FOR ASSEMBLING
Removing the System Unit’s Cover: Unplug the AC power cord from the system unit. Remove the screws that hold the cover to the chassis. Store the screws properly. Next, remove the system unit’s outer cover, as illustrated in Figure below and set it aside.
Slide the case forward. Tilt the case upward from the front and remove it from the unit. Or, lift the back edge of the outer cover to approximately 45 degrees, and the slide it toward the rear of the chassis.
