    • System Architecture
This information is used as requirement for request SMS and in addition, the sender’s mobile number is then sent to the GSM modem via GSM network. The GSM modem forwards the information to the server to be used by OzomaSMS software. This software firstly converts the message from PDU into text mode and then saves it in its database named as OzomaSMS, in this inbox table.
Next, the system application named Examination Result System must be kept updated with any new requests received by the OzomaSMS software. In order to do this, it uses an ASP.NET notification script which will ensure that whenever there is a new request, it will be invoked for processing. When it captures the particular message from the database, the next trimming process will be performed.
The captured message will be trimmed into three(3) pieces of information; matric no., Exams id and phone number. Then this application will send the information to other C# module for validation process.
      4.5    Choice of Programming Language
To achieve the goal of this project, the Microsoft.Net platform and c# programming language were used. This platform consists of different components working together to support applications targeting it.
The Microsoft.Net platform is a software development platform from Microsoft Corporation. This platform, also known as the .NET Framework, is an integral Windows component that supports building and running the next generation of applications and Web services (Walther, 2005, p.11).
The key components of the .NET Framework are the common language runtime and the .NET Framework class library, which includes ADO.NET, ASP.NET, and Windows Forms (Walther, 2005, p.11). The .NET Framework provides a managed execution environment, simplified development and deployment, and integration with a wide variety of programming languages (Microsoft MSDN).
The following subsections describe some components of this powerful platform:
