    • 4.8    Implementation Techniques of the System
System implementation is the final stage where the designed system is put into use. The main activities under the implementation phase are:
      i.    Writing and Debugging all Computer Programs
      ii.    Creation of Master File
iii.    Preparation and Documentation for Data Processing and Used Department
iv.    Acquiring of all necessary equipment, stationeries etc.
      v.    Training data processing and user department staff to use the system
vi.    Supervision of Phasing in a system part
vii.    The testing and proving that all parts of the system are working properly
In order to effectively implement new system designed. There is need to have a good computer network in place. In order to reduce the level of liability of the system, various implementation methods desired to use are:
Direct Implementation: In Direct Implementation, the change is made all at once. The new system must meet the planned aim so that it will not disrupt the normal routine.
Parallel Implementation: Some systems involve running the old system at the same time the new system for a period of time; this is done so as to compare the two systems. If the performance of the new system is satisfactory then the use of the old system is discontinued.
Pilot Implementation: If a system is to be implemented at many locations in widely dispatched company, the task will be very difficult to manage all at once. Pilot Implementation has to do with implementing the system at one location first, once it is working, it is implemented at the other locations.
In this case, we shall use the parallel-run/ parallel implementation in which the old and new system is run concurrently for a period of time, until the new system is checked and Okayed.
This allows the user to see concurrently both the old and new system and the advantages of the new system over the old system is convincing.
      4.9    Documentation
This is a set of documents provided on paper, or online, or on digital or analog media, such as audio tape or CDs. It is becoming less common to see hard copy (paper) documentation. The following documentations were carried out on this project:
System Documentation: The major importance of this system is to take care of Results Processing for the department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science Kwararafa University Wukari. Besides this, it will also store information for future use such as transcript processing.
      User Documentation
The user documentation guides the user in using the new system. The Computer System will boot normally into the Windows, Linux or Mac OS. The program which is written in Basic HTML, CSS, PHP and SQL, can run on any web browser using a server.

CHAPTER ONE - [ Total Page(s): 2 ]My research focuses on the design and implementation of an application where student results can be stored, users can access this software from anywhere as long as the computer they are working on is on the network same as the application server. This application enables users with the right permission to insert new user details, students’ examination records as well as updating these records whenever necessary. This research seeks to provide an alternative to the manual syste ... Continue reading---

CHAPTER TWO - [ Total Page(s): 1 ]CHAPTER TWO LITERATURE REVIEW2.1    IntroductionBarrett (1999) encapsulated the essence of a student information system. He defines SMIS as “an integrated software package that maintains, supports, and provides inquiry, analysis, and communication tools that organize student accountability data into information to support the educational process”.A result management system (RMS) is only an aspect of a complete SIS package. The U.S. Department of Education (2008) viewed student dat ... Continue reading---
