    • Students are reported to find computer-based self-assessment tests useful, particularly for revision (Steele and Koner 2001). There appeared to have been only a few studies of the effect of these tests on assessment performance and they tend to show that improvement is small (Pinckney 2001). In University of Ilorin, computer-Assisted Test was placed on the universitycomputer network in 2008, and subsequently remained available at all times. The quiz covered all aspects of the module and was specifically designed to improve the students’ knowledge and recall of factual information. ‘Ideal’ answers were accessible by clicking on a button below each question. Programmes where organized to assist Students on how to effectively use CAT for examination purpose (Dimeji, 2014). This revealed that pre-service teachers in University of Ilorin had a positive attitude towards CBT since the period of introduction due to its usefulness, ease of use and reliability.
      Appraisal of Reviewed Literature
Reviewed literatures have focused on evaluation and students learning, meaning and type of CBT, pre-service teacher perception and attitude towards Computer-Based Test (CBT).Literature reviewed on evaluation showed that educational systemhasbeeninfluencedbyarapidchangein technologyasitisincreasinglyusedin teachingandlearning.Thishas implicationson the qualityofUniversityeducation, asqualityisbelievedto have beencompromisedbythequantityofuniversities.Qualityisrelatedto standard; therefore the  standard of university education  can only be achieved  through evaluation  process. Literature reviewed on perception and attitude of students towards the use of CBT showed that students in Nigerian universities perceived CBT to be useful, easy to use and credible. More so, thhe attitude of students towards the use of CBT has been positive. Though students experience anxiety due to computer but still perform better in CBT (Boo, 1997). The guidelines for the use of CBT are the rank order scores of individuals tested in alternative modes closely appropriating each other and the means, dispersions and shapes of the score distributions being approximately the same by re-scaling the scores from the computer tests versions (Tella&Bashorun, 2012).
