When the jammer was switched ON, it was observed that between 40 to 70 seconds the network bars on the mobile phones within the radius of the jammer were scrambled, as shown in figures (4.2, 4.4, 4.6 and 4.8). While the jamming device was still ON, I tried calling the mobile phones in figure (4.1, 4.3, 4.5 and 4.7) with another mobile phone from outside the jamming area. However, the following responds were received from the network service providers
‘The number you are trying to call is not reachable’
‘The user you are trying to call is not responding’
Furthermore, when any of the scrambled phones in the figures (4.2, 4.4, 4.6 and 4.8) was used to call other mobile phones outside the jamming area, an ‘Out of network coverage’ message pops up on the screen.
4.5 Further Test and Analysis
I decided to test the jammer at three different locations (Egbejila, Odota, and Garin alimi) around the airport area. The results are as tabulated below
