Research Question 1
Which one of the under listed factors do you think is the most prevalent barrier to effective language communication in Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku?
The response to question one (1) above is shown in the table below.
The table above reveals that a majority of the respondents, i.e 57 out of 200, are of the opinion that semantic distortion is the most prevalent barrier to effective language communication in the Polytechnic. What this implies is that most persons in the Institution tend to give different meaning to words as they perceive them. When this occurs, effective communication is hindered.
