5.5 Recommendations
Consequent upon the research findings and conclusions got from the study, the following recommendations are made.
Communication between staff members should as much as possible be made clear, simple and devoid of ambiguities to enable the receiver of the message understand it.
Members of staff should be consulted, encouraged to participate and allowed to analyze any message before sending it. For example, a manager may ask a colleague to proof-read a memorandum before it is circulated in the organization. The content of the message should fit the recipients level of knowledge.
Line of communication between staff and Management should be kept open to avoid rumour mongering and other vices which adversely affect management efficiency.
Management should endeavour to provide oral communication facilities in all offices to enhance communication within and outside the system.
Management and superiors alike should endeavour to commend in writing and even reward deserving staff members in order to boost their morale on the job. In this regard, staff members should at all times be communicated on organizational activities. This, in my opinion, will enhance job performance in an organization.
Efforts should be geared toward ensuring the immediate feedback to messages sent. This, in my opinion, will make the job go smoothly.
Regular meetings between Management and staff representatives should be encouraged. This, in my opinion, will greatly minimize conflict(s).
Management should endeavour to occasionally organize training workshops to improve the written and oral communication skills of staff members.
The researcher believes that if these recommendations are strictly adhered to, the problems arising from the lack of effective language communication in organizations will be a thing of the past.
