Akpan (2000) argued quantitatively that “a more optimal policy option in funding education is increased†students’ income support (as in bursary payment) going along with improved facilities if academic performance is to be enhanced. According to him, the time that students are willing to put into studies depend on the level of income support and such expected income support should bring respite on the following needs, namely: the library, laboratory, classroom, hostel facilities, recreational and health facilities among others.
Johnson (1965) conceived some of the student support services to include, psychological services, school social services, health services, attendance services and guidance services. From the above, it shows that student support services are purely non-instructional which is the institution. Adequate provision of the student support services will make the student to behave in a desirable manner while inadequate or poor student support services will make them to behave in a less developed way.

Students Unpleasant Behaviour
The fundamental objective of any educational institution is to facilitate the total and fullest development of the students in terms of enriching their personal sense of skill acquisition (psychomotor) and consequently, enable them to contribute to the socio-economic and political development of their father’s land (country). The effort of the educational institutions towards the achievement of these goals had been continuously aborted by the students of Nigerian tertiary institutions in the name of protests.
The unpleasant behaviours shown by the students which are inimical to the progress of their institution’s goals and objectives include: violence (students’ unrest), cultism, examination malpractices, raping, drug abuse, disobedience to rules and regulations.
