Table 3 presents data on respondents view on influence of family background on academic performance of secondary school students on the basis of gender. The table shows that the value of the calculated t (-3.80; infinite value) is greater than the critical value of 1.96. Hence, the null hypothesis was rejected. Therefore significant difference exists on the basis of gender.
Hypothesis Two
There is no significant difference in the influence of family background on academic performance of students’ basis on religion.
Table 4 revealed the result of respondents’ perception an influence of family background on academic performance of students. The table shows that the calculated f-ratio is 1.65 while critical f-ratio is 3.00. Since the calculated f-ratio is less than the critical f-ratio, the null hypothesis which stated that there is no significant difference in the perception of students’ influence of family background on academics performance of secondary school students on the basis of religion is accepted.
