The result in Table 9 above implies that the calculated value of 17.43 was greater than the table value of 2.00 the null hypothesis was rejected. Hence the mean score of rural boys differed from urban significantly at 0.05 levels.
Hypothesis 3:
There is no significant difference in the mean scores performance of boys and girls in 50 metres dash, standing broad jump and 10 metres shuttle run.
t-test was used in testing the null hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance and the result obtained was summarized on Table 10, 11 and 12.In Table 10 above, it was observed that the calculated value of 8.37 was higher than the t-critical value of 2.00. Then, null hypothesis was therefore rejected, since the mean score of boys differed from mean score of girls significantly at 0.05 levels.
The result in Table 11 above indicated that calculated value of 3.46 was higher than the table value of 2.00. The null hypothesis 3 was therefore rejected, since the mean score of boys differed from that of girls significantly at 0.05 level.
