    • This study investigates the structural patterns of simple and complex sentences in Igbo. It analyses clause types, word order, connectors, and the syntactic rules guiding sentence formation. Using descriptive methods, the research draws data from oral narratives, written texts, and elicited expressions from native speakers.

Findings show that Igbo maintains a predominantly Subject-Verb-Object (SVO) structure but allows variations in complex constructions involving subordination and coordination. The study offers insight into the underlying grammatical principles of Igbo and provides resources that may enhance teaching, translation, and linguistic documentation.
