the willingness of managers and team leaders to recognize that they will obtain increased motivation and commitment if they pay continuous attention to the ways in which they delegate responsibility, and give their staff the scope to use their skills and abilities. Summary of literature review
The literature review highlighted that:
a) The motivation required for a person to achieve a high level of performance is satisfaction with the job,
b) Human behavior and motivation are environmentally determined,
c) Certain factors much as pay, promotion, benefits, supervisor, coworkers, work conditions, communication, safety, productivity and the work itself influence the way the person feels about their job.
The literature review also highlighted that:
a) Commitment is the relative strength of the individual identification with, and general experience with a particular organisation
(b) Loyalty is an important intervening variable between the structural conditions of work and the values and expectations of employees and their decision to stay or leave
Hypotheses:
1. There is a significant relationship between job satisfaction and organisational commitment among immigration officers
2. There will be a significant difference in job satisfaction and organisational commitment between male and female workers.

The population of the study was made up of one hundred (100) questionnaires measuring job satisfaction and organizational commitments were randomly distributed to the participants.
