    • This study examined the impact of staff motivation on organizational productivity with special reference to Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemical Company. The study was undertaken to determine the nature and types of motivational practices available to employees, identify the problems associated with staff motivation, and evaluate the effectiveness of motivational programmes in enhancing productivity within the organization. Motivation was recognized as a critical factor influencing employee morale, efficiency, commitment, and overall organizational performance.

The research adopted the use of both primary and secondary sources of data collection. Relevant information was obtained through textbooks, journals, company records, and observations relating to employee motivation and productivity. The study revealed that inadequate motivation, poor welfare packages, insufficient incentives, and lack of adequate staff development programmes contribute significantly to low morale, inefficiency, and reduced productivity among employees. It further showed that effective motivational factors such as improved salaries, fringe benefits, promotion opportunities, training programmes, and conducive working conditions enhance employees’ performance and increase organizational productivity.

The study concluded that staff motivation has a significant impact on organizational productivity. It therefore recommended that management should establish effective motivational policies, improve workers’ welfare, provide adequate incentives, and create opportunities for career development in order to achieve higher productivity and organizational goals.
