Motivation And Teachers Job Performance In Public Primary Schools

This study investigated the relationship between motivation and teachers’ job performance in Alimosho Local Government Area. The research was guided by four research questions and four hypotheses, with relevant literature on the key variables reviewed. A descriptive research design was employed, and the sample consisted of 113 public primary school teachers within the area. Data were collected using a researcher-designed questionnaire titled Motivation and Teachers’ Job Performance.
The data were analyzed with the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient at the 0.05 level of significance. The results revealed that motivation plays a crucial role in enhancing teachers’ effectiveness, as it enables them to meet set goals more efficiently.
The study further established that teacher motivation is essential, as it boosts their skills and knowledge, thereby directly influencing job performance. In essence, motivation serves as the input, while job performance represents the output of this motivation.
