    • This study investigates the strategies for enhancing the competitive advantage of Uber taxi business in Nigeria, with specific focus on Uber drivers operating in Lagos State. The rapid growth of ride-hailing platforms has intensified competition within the Nigerian taxi industry, thereby necessitating continuous innovation and strategic repositioning for sustainability. A quantitative research design was adopted for the study. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered to Uber drivers in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State. Descriptive statistical tools such as frequency distribution, percentages, and mean scores were used for data analysis.

      The findings revealed that regulatory challenges, income instability, fuel cost fluctuations, and intense market competition are major challenges confronting Uber taxi operations. The study further established that Uber’s adoption of digital technology, flexible pricing, service reliability, and customer-focused innovations significantly enhance its competitive advantage.

      The study concludes that sustained competitiveness in the ride-hailing industry depends on continuous technological innovation, improved driver welfare, strategic partnerships, and regulatory collaboration. Recommendations were made to Uber management, policymakers, and drivers to strengthen operational efficiency and long-term sustainability.
